Programming Information

At Windycon 52, we gather once more to create a Sanctuary Among the Stars, a welcoming refuge for dreamers, creators, gamers, readers, makers, and explorers of every kind. Our programming spans the full spectrum of science fiction, fantasy, and fandom, offering spaces to learn, play, create, perform, and connect.

Throughout the weekend, you will find author readings, writing workshops, and in-depth literary discussions. Panels will explore topics ranging from representation in speculative fiction to the roots of cyberpunk and the enduring power of beloved classics. Craft and creativity take center stage in sessions exploring fiber arts, costume design, and immersive worldbuilding. Discover how texture, color, and silhouette help define cultures both historical and imagined, and how thoughtful design shapes the worlds our heroes inhabit. From needle and thread to maps and mythologies, these panels honor the makers who build entire universes from the smallest details. Hands-on workshops and make-and-take events invite you to craft your own piece of the story while learning new skills to take home.

Music and performance remain central to the Windycon experience, with concerts featuring filk, folk, fandom-inspired pop, and choral works. Interactive events such as open music circles, live demonstrations, themed gatherings, and playful photo opportunities ensure there is always something unexpected waiting around the corner.

Our Gaming Hall returns with the Gen Con Games Library, expanded role-playing opportunities, and Play-to-Win events. The Art Show, Dealers Room, and a variety of special interest meetups celebrate the creativity that fuels our community. You will also find space for thoughtful conversations about fandom, science, technology, media, and the future we are building together.
