Guest of Honor: Tristian TrisRex Johnson

Monster and Film Maker TrisRex was born and raised on the SouthSide of Chicago, where he was enamored by monster movies, comics, and action figures at an early age. He’s known for his dark and dramatic take on well-known DC Comics characters paired with horror elements such as his take on Swamp Thing and 2021’s Red Lantern Lord Atrocitus. In 2023 he proved to be a true visionary and world builder with his larger than life ALIENS: RESURGENCE project featuring 2023’s standout, The Empress Alien.

His grotesque and organic style has landed him on the cover of Cosplay Alliance and Art Materials Retailer Magazine with appearances on ABC 7, FOX 32, Cinema Makeup School, Dread Central, DC Comics, Shortboxed, Make Magazine and many others. To stay connected with the community, Rex can be found at comic and horror conventions around the country hosting panels, teaching workshops, and judging cosplay competitions while sharing his love for the art. As of late, his exploration of practical fx and foam fabrication, segwayed the mad scientist into the world of film where he displays his horde of talents in his 2025 short, ALIENS: RESURGENCE (For The Hive).
